Put this meal on the menu for any trip: It’s easy-prep trail food that will wow every palate...
The tastiest trail soup we've ever eaten.
Sure, everything tastes better in camp. So we tried this dehydrated meal at home too, just to confirm our field findings. It is delicious. The soup is the perfect appetizer for hungry troops, a satisfying belly warmer in cold weather and substantial enough to pass for dinner when only a light meal is needed. Plus, it takes only 10 minutes to prepare. Ingredients are simple: chicken breast, red peppers, corn, tomatoes, cilantro, spices and rice. But the result is gourmet. “It tastes like it’s been simmering in the kitchen all day,” summed up one satisfied tester. Serving size is legit for two hungry guys, and it comes with toppings that make it easy to customize according to taste: freeze-dried Monterrey Jack, tortilla chips, Tabasco sauce and lime juice.

When not in use, our Cook-in-Cozy™ folds away nicely in your pack for storage and weighs in at only 1.4oz.

So very close to my moms tortilla soup recipe. It is one of my favorites on the trail especially for cold rainy trips. Enjoy!

I took this soup on a two day backpacking trip. I absolutely loved it. Flavor was spot on and I ate the whole bag. I found myself wanting more cheese and crushed tortilla chips, so I'll pack some out when I buy this next.

WOW! This Tortilla Soup is incredible, and Packit Gourmet really knows what they are doing when it comes to backpacking meals! I recently went on a backpacking trip and my Packit Gourmet meals were making everyone jealous. This soup is so flavorful and the lime salt and cholula included was amazing. The soup heated quickly and everything rehydrated well. I will absolutely be buying more of these!

This meal was so delicious I would even eat it at home! I took the Austintacious Tortilla Soup with me on a 4-day backpacking & climbing trip to Como Lake in Colorado and it was the perfect meal after a long arduous hike up Como Trail. The roasted corn just topped off the wonderful flavor and the corn tortillas added a nice texture you don’t get with other freeze-dried meals. Thank you for putting so much thought into this meal.

YUM! This is the a really delicious meal after a long day on the trail. I eat this on hot summer evenings and in the snow. My fellow backpackers eating Mountain House meals are always really jealous when they try my Tortilla Soup. It's really filling and has a lot of protein to support the next 15 miles. This one's a winner!

Let me just say that PackItGourmet is my family's absolute, hands down FAVORITE brand of backpacking food. My 15 yr old son snagged the only Tortilla Soup pack from a sampler pack I purchased and we made it on a high elevation backing trip this last weekend (11,600+ - added 1 minute of time for every 1,000' over sea level). The whole family (5 of us) sampled the soup and we were all blown away at how delicious this soup is. Planning a week long canoeing trip in a couple of weeks and every family member requested the Tortilla Soup be ordered for one dinner. And I heard my husband talking to one of his buddies on the phone this morning about this soup - it really is that good!
