Dab's Smash Burger with Secret Sauce

grill-seasoned ground beef with the works - tomato, cheddar cheese & diced onions

We don’t know about you, but the number one food that we crave after a long trip in the backcountry is a good-ole hamburger.

With that in mind, we designed a ¼-lb seasoned burger wrap that's lightweight, uses only 3oz of water to rehydrate and tastes amazing! Featuring "the works" [cheddar cheese, ripe red tomatoes and sweet white onions] and our special "secret sauce" – you won't have to wait to savor the flavor of a "burger."

Wrapped in a BYO-tortilla or enjoyed as a burger bowl, the Dab's is sure to satisfy those backcountry burger cravings!

UPDATE for long-time buyers of our All-American Works Burger, the Dab's is the latest and greatest version of our classic trail burger! Now featuring a larger serving size, higher calories, less sodium and more fiber and micronutrients (thanks lentils!), the Dab's has it all!
In our fight against micro-trash, we've mixed "the works" directly into the burger resulting in less mess and smaller footprint. And amping up our own powdered "secret sauce" allowed us to achieve that classic burger flavor that everyone loves - without condiment packets. Prefer your burger with extra ketchup or mustard? Go ahead and add on those condiments for free!

Why wait until after the trip to get that burger you're craving? "This actually tastes like it came off the grill," says one tester. The meat is a little crumbly but not dry; wrap it in a tortilla (BYO) with ketchup, mayo, mustard and relish (included in separate packets, so yes, you can have it your way). Testers also really liked this company's deli-style Roast Beef Wrap.

frequently asked questions

What is Gluten Conscious?

Gluten Conscious is a term we use to describe a product that is prepared with gluten free ingredients; however, it is not prepared in a gluten-free environment. While we are careful to avoid cross-contamination, it is possible that trace amounts of gluten may be present due to the use of gluten in our facility.
Why is a Cook–in–Cozy™ recommended?

We recommend that all of our hot meals spend time "steep-cooking" while snuggled in a Cook-in-Cozy. We find this method promotes a more consistent temperature and steady cook time for Cook-in-Bag preparation; and results in a better serving temperature for your meal. When not in use, our Cook-in-Cozy folds away nicely in your pack for storage and weighs in at only 1.4oz.

Easy to prepare, tasted good and it was very filling. Ate it with tortillas (medium) burrito style and was able to make 3 out of the 2 person meal. For ease, we threw in the works while it was re-hydrating and ended up with a yummy quick meal.

I think this is probably my favorite trail meal and really look forward to this at the end of the day. Such a morale booster on trips when I am by myself since it gives you a feeling that you really have the backcountry hiking thing figured out with being lightweight with your food/pack and yet very delicious. I ate this every 3rd day on 17 days on the mountain last year and never got tired of it. This tastes just like a real juicy cheeseburger at a restaurant. Putting in a big order for my upcoming trip.

Surprisingly very good! I had my doubts and didn't actually order this one, it was mis-shipped in place of the soup and they let me keep it while sending a replacement meal. Tasted a lot like a hamburger!

Made the first one to specs - too peppery/salty but ate it. Made the 2nd one this way; hydrated with extra water, poured it off at end of hydration, did not add cheese bag, added sliced shelf-stable swiss and the mustard-mayo-ketchup. Much less salty-spicy and smelled great - best breakfast I've had so far. Next time I think I'll add a Minimus A-1 packet. I think this would make a great taco, and I was thinking of using the hot Queso to mix in, then putting it in corn taco shells. Also adding reconstituted sour cream powder, and maybe some reconstituted pico de gallo .. Yum!

Yum!

I just skied around Crater Lake for 3 days. I had the All American Burger wrap on the first day. It was so tasty and quite large. It was the first time coming out of the backcountry that I didn't crave a burger!"
