This one got rave reviews from our taste testers — one guy said, “Tastes like real food!” I can personally say it’s one of the best prepackaged trail meals I’ve tried. With roasted chicken and dumplings in a thick, savory gravy, it reminded me of something Grandma might make.

Craving comfort food on a chilly evening? Dig into this prep-in-the-bag meal, loaded with melt-in-your-mouth dumplings and crunchy cornbread croutons. The broth blends smoky mushrooms with sweet carrots and peas, and it's chockablock with bits of tender chicken.

We recommend that all of our hot meals spend time "steep-cooking™" while snuggled in a Cook-in-Cozy™. We find this method promotes a more consistent temperature and steady cook time for Cook-in-Bag™ preparation; and results in a better serving temperature for your meal. When not in use, our Cook-in-Cozy™ folds away nicely in your pack for storage and weighs in at only 1.4oz.

Delicious. It’s comfort food and trail food in one.

Just returned from a Memorial Day weekend hike. Had a party of six. Added six packets of Dotties chicken and dumplings to a single pot of boiling water for a group meal, so it took a little longer than advertised to rehydrate. Man, was it worth the wait! Top notch meal! Chicken pieces were tender and delicious.

Very good. Impressed with PackitGourmet,

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. Everything rehydrated well and there was plenty of chicken and vegetables.

The chicken and dumplings were delicious at the end of a long day! I will definitely keep these on hand as one of my favorites!

Single serving, high protein, low(er) fat - can't be beat. This is my dinner on all of my solo backpacking trips. It is one of the only meals that is single serving, has a ton of protein and isn't loaded with fat - I follow macros, so this is absolutely perfect. And it tastes great! Thank you for making this amazing meal!!

A buddy and I took a three day two night trip in the Hoh river rainforest last weekend. This was the first meal of the day after setting up camp. We were both just wowing how good this meal is. Thank you for the great job.

Me and my son had this meal on a 6 day backpacking trip to Isle Royale. It was fantastic!

Overall this meal is a miss for me. There is a bitter taste present in the meal itself that lingers unpleasantly. The chicken has a tendency to not rehydrate fully, leaving you with tough chunks to chew through. The dumpling dough is very nice though. I'd like to see the bitterness fixed, and more vegetables. 2/5 stars. Would be an average meal if not for the bitterness.
