Great burrito. Nicely seasoned, not too hot for the weak at tongue, but can be spiced up with hot sauce. Great as a soup too, dipping tortilla in the soup. This will go into my meal rotation hiking for sure!

The Trailside Bean & Cheese Burrito meal is my #1 go-to. The first time I sampled PackItGourmet was on a trip last year - and its been on every overnight trip since. The Bean and Cheese Burritos go with my whole family - throw it on a couple street taco sized tortillas and enjoy. My husband throws in a bit of hamburger (available in Grocery) to add more bulk - but the rest of us eat it as is. So yummy and filling - you won't be disappointed.

Finally tried this on a three day trip to Grayson Highlands. Had it on two small flour tortillas and it could have easily filled four. So two hearty burritos and ate the rest straight out of the bag. Delicious and filling! Added a couple of packets of my favorite fast food taco sauce to seal the deal.

This is my current favorite. I’ve tried freeze dried refried beans from the grocery store, but THIS STUFF is where it’s at. Spiced and flavorful. Not hot but the Cholula hot sauce gives it that extra if u want it.

I make something similar to this myself, but decided to give it a go and I was very impressed with the flavor. Worth buying. Only complaint is that they were/are a bit skimpy on the cheese.

    frequently asked questions

    Why is a Cook–in–Cozy™ recommended?

We recommend that all of our hot meals spend time "steep-cooking" while snuggled in a Cook-in-Cozy. We find this method promotes a more consistent temperature and steady cook time for Cook-in-Bag preparation; and results in a better serving temperature for your meal. When not in use, our Cook-in-Cozy folds away nicely in your pack for storage and weighs in at only 1.4oz.

Delicious and filling - flavors I fondly remember! We had ours with crackers and tortillas; I'd recommend a carbohydrate to go with this to make it a fuller meal. Will be buying for next backpacking trip!

This is my current favorite. I’ve tried freeze dried refried beans from the grocery store, but THIS STUFF is where it’s at. Spiced and flavorful. Not hot but the Cholula hot sauce gives it that extra if u want it.
